Présentation

SUNIX FTC1239, a MedIO Fiber Converter series, which provides RS-232 to RS-422/485 conversion or serial to fiber conversion. This multiple interface converter is ideally used for RS-232/422 point to point connections or RS-485 multi-drop applications. The Fiber media extends the serial communication range up to 40 KM with single-mode fiber and baud rate transmitting up to 460 Kbps.

Users can also use FTC1239 to change the RS-232 interface to RS-422 or RS-485 for increasing data transmission distance up to 1.2 KM by using the differential signal and multi-drop connections. This Fiber media is also the best solution for applications where transmission must be protected from electrical exposure, surges, lighting or chemical corrosion in the industrial environment. Note that the RS-232 and RS-422/485 interfaces can not be used simultaneously converting to optic fiber mode at the same time.
